Good Morning :)

Meet Sergent Fuzzy Boots. The only female out of a litter of three kittens. Every morning all three run around my legs until I leave for class, and are waiting for me in the living room when I get back, then follow me around until I re-fill the food bowl. They spend all day and night chasing us around, getting in the way, tearing things apart, hiding our socks and sleeping in random places. I figured something cute would help brighten up week 10. 

Constructed Image: Painting the roses red

I was playing around with food for my constructed image, (carrot tulips, orange peel flowers), and when I started shooting the celery roses, I couldn't get the Alice in Wonderland song "Painting the Roses Red" out of my head. So I decided that's what I was going to do with them.

There's a video of them being painted, with the song playing in the background (not amazing videos but still neat), that I'm hoping to make ready for online viewing soon. Till then, I have the stills.

I was going to do three images of the other "flowers" but wasn't sure what I'd do with them to make them work as a series, I may simply do 5 of my favorite images of the two roses I painted.

Orange Peels

Did you know that if you peel and orange in one piece, then leave it out over night, it'll dry out pretty solid? If you leave it on top of a bottle, or any other shape, it'll dry interestingly.

I wanted to do a whole series/scene with this type, but the dog ate this one, so I've got to start all over....I'm going to be eating a lot of clementines this week.

Wish upon a Star

Well, now that I'm reliving my childhood of Disney inspiration, not only do I want to shoot this scene and multiple other Disney lovey dovey stuff (and I'm sure twisted disney at somepoint), I've decided my life long dream has been, and always will be, to get married in Disney Land....or at least spend my Honeymoon there....I JUST WANNA GO SO FRICKEN BAD.

Wishful thinking...that I'm going to hold onto until it's mine.

Personal Projects

Last Tuesday I got paid to shoot one of my models for a clothing line, it was the first time I've been paid to shoot someone in the studio, and have the focus be on the clothes, not the mood lighting or the background. The two with my name on it, are two of my favorites from that shoot. The others, are my lovely Haewon, who sadly moved to California early this morning, forcing me to do one last shoot with her until next year.

The first image is the beginning of my personal project "Pinups for Augustine" Where I'm just shooting girls, looking sexy/like rock stars, wearing something of Augustines, as a sort of promotional shoot, and for them to have poster girls. None of these are edited, so at some point I'll probably go in and clean up the floor a bit, but most of these were just for fun. I missed feeling "I want to shoot this" not thinking "I have to shoot this" .

Thankfully I want to shoot my last couple projects, and am hoping my ideas for the moving image work as well as I want them to.

There's just something about being able to walk around stage while bands are playing, and having them smile at you because they're friends of yours, that makes me love my job, I'd happily shoot these bands for free any day of the week.
