The things that live at my house...
These are my nieces and nephew, all whom live in my house currently. I bet you were expecting my pets ;) The one in red loves being in front of my camera, it's hard getting her to not be overly posed, so I just had her run around play for a while. The other three children are still hard to take pictures of without instantly having them notice and flashing a cheesy grin (or the boy, who will make some off or obscene hand gesture)
Flower
A post without animals! Or people! One of a few flower pictures I've taken and actually am pretty happy with.
Dropclutch
A few shots of a local band from Syracuse. Name was put on them because Tool & Die Magazine (the owners also manage Augustine and are older friends of mine), asked to use a few of the pictures on their websites and in their magazine.

Blue Eyes
I have no idea who this child is, I only know that her eyes are blue (the photo of course gives that away on it's own).
The Itsy Bitsy Spier...
I. HATE. SPIDERS.
However they make a very gorgeous photograph sometimes (not this one in particular, I'll dig up some of our garden spider photos.)

Sad Puppy
After being locked in a car for the hour and a half drive from home to here, my roomies puppy was very unhappy to still be in the car.

North Carolina, April 2009.
Every year my other mother takes Spring Break and kidnaps us kids (her son, myself and a few others), and takes us to the Outer Banks of NC. We get a house right on the beach for the week. It's a great week of beautiful scenery, a loving family environment, and a place to relax. I went for walk one of the few days it was raining and windy, ( I love walking in the rain when it's warm), and this pier was just there. Taking a beating. It's already damaged from the hurricanes last year, and I find it amazing that it was still standing strong in this storm, that wasn't too bad, but sometimes, man made structures amaze me.

Bridge in Jersey. No clue where exactly....or maybe it was closer to NYC...I don't know for sure, I was on a train, we passed it, I took the picture figuring it wouldn't come out as well as it did. I love shots you don't expect to get.

My 2d Final Project. What you don't see is that after I printed it out with the patterns, I printed two other copies of it, then mounted different parts on foam core, so the picture has levels. I will try to capture my leveled version with my camera sometime soon...especially since I need more blog posts to make it 40!

Dedicated to: Haewon Folley
I can't even -begin- to explain the reasons I loved this shoot. Not only was it fun, and I'm pretty happy with the results, but the girl in this photo is much more than just a pretty face to me. She was the first close friend I made at school last year, and the only girl that I've stayed friends with here. (Aside from Stephie, Hana and Yasmeen, who I'm assuming will still be part of my friends next year.) She trusted me a great deal last year, and this year I was able to trust her a great deal with many different things. I know if I need -anything- and she can help me out it -anyway-, she's always willing to try and see what she can do. Very few people will put acrylic paint anywhere near, let alone actually partially in your mouth for a simple photo shoot. Few people would let you tie them up with string and have another friend pulling their arms around with them (which is the other shots from this series). I'm going to make my last few entries dedications to a few people who've really helped me out since I've been away from home. I grew up constantly having a cat or dog around, and not being able to have even a bunny has been trying (though I might bring my rabbit up from home after break), I have issues being alone for longer than an hour honestly, and a few people have put up with my craziness without hesitation. Haewon is one of those people. So even though many people believe I use her a lot because she's pretty (though it is one reason), I mostly use her because I can work with her very well, and she always knows what I seem to be picturing in my head.
Miss Haewon Folley, you're amazing, and I never imagined I'd find such a good friend while I was here. Thank you for proving me wrong.

My 4th shot for my still life project. So far I've gotten a lot of positive feedback on all the pictures, and I'm really happy about it. I like all my shots, and feel like being able to shoot a variety of things and shoot them well, is a good thing. I'm debating on switching to add photo, mostly because there are A LOT of job openings for add photography, and I can always do 'Fine Art' photo on the side. It's hard getting feedback outside of class, I always show my friends new pictures and get "oh yeah I already saw it, I thought it was blah blah blah." IT DRIVES ME NUTS. I wish people would actually TELL you their reaction to your work when they see it, instead of waiting for you to ask for it. XD I'm going to start harassing my friends and family for more feedback.

And...I just love this face in this picture. You can't lie and tell me it didn't make you smile a little. :)

Feb. 10th 2010
While sitting around home, realizing we have one week left to do our final projects, I figured I might want to shoot another still life....it was suppose to be 'happy', but since I find it funny, I'll go with the fact that it's still happy enough. Had to do a lot of editing...there was a corner on the wall that took away from the picture that needed to be edited out. The Pepsi spilled on the counter wasn't dark enough, and you really couldn't read more than 'cola' on the glass, and you could just barely read that. So...with a lot of dodging, burning, and the clone stamp I got a picture I'm fairly happy with. Still might go back in and darken more of the Pepsi.
Fun fact? I had no coca cola, so I filled the cup with Pepsi :P

My two favorite shots from the still life I shot on Weds. Unedited. May or may not edit them. Going to do a couple more shoots, see which ones I like them most of turn in. Cannon Rebel XS with a macro 100 mm lens. Used....3 lights total? Smaller tungsten directly in front, the square one on the right side, and soft box a little off to the left.

Feb. 2nd 2010
I just wanted to share this, because it's funny, and it's a little taste of what my mother sends me. I use to get annoyed about her constantly e-mailing me when all she has to do is pick up her phone and call or text me! I check my phone before my e-mail, and last year my e-mail was only checked minutes before class to make sure it hadn't been canceled. Now, she sticks to things like this, things her co-workers send her that are funny, cute, and sometimes caring and sweet. Most of the time...they're funny...and as I get older, I see we have a bit more in common now than when I was younger. Not much more, but enough to make me feel 100% sure my mom wasn't unfertile and I wasn't one of those "here you have my husbands seed and push out a baby for us!" deals.
